New Reiki treatment room in Islington

A lot has happened this week - I’m about to start preparing for the Full Moon Healing tonight and I have some exciting news to share.

One of the things I love about Reiki is when I can see it in my life. It can be hard to describe what happens during Reiki treatments, how the shifts in energy take place as it’s different for everyone, so I hope you’ll like this recent story.

Do you remember those sliding puzzles from when you were a child? The ones with those little square tiles, you had to move up and down, side to side to solve and create the picture - and it felt impossible like you’d never get it and then all of a sudden one tile moves and you can see how everything slides into place.

Reiki is a bit like that.

Reiki treatments help energy move and shift - not necessarily visible straightaway - but when they do it’s amazing to see!

In January I was bored with a space in my home and decided to move a bookshelf from one side of the room to another - closer to an armchair, creating a new space. I liked the extra room, it made it feel bigger and fresh. I was feeling quite proud of myself for trying something new, even though initially it felt like an effort to take all the books down, find somewhere to put them, then rearrange them again etc.

That weekend, we found mould in my son’s bedroom. Awful. So we moved him into my treatment space and one of my most treasured possessions a handmade cupboard that was made by my great uncle for my great grandparent’s wedding moved into this new space I had created. Somehow we managed to make a new bedroom for my son and fit all the other items around the house, from that one space I had created. We were down one room, but I was relieved my son was in a better space.

I'm making light of it here, it was loads of work. As I was lying in bed thinking, gosh we did it - I also realised if I hadn’t moved the bookshelf I just wouldn't have easily seen the opportunity to make and be flexible for the other changes that needed to happen.

Thankfully all the mould is gone and the room has now become a new dining / office / pop-up Reiki room. And my son loves his new bedroom (of course it has great energy in there!)

I didn’t see the full picture until a few weeks later, a couple more tiles had to slide into place.

I was reading a book and it sparked an idea - an opportunity, that had been around for ages I just didn’t see it. Another space where I could hold Reiki treatments, closer to central London...

Ta Da!

Welcome to my new treatment room in Islington; it's in the upper chapel at St Luke’s Church (corner Hillmarton and Penn Rd N7 9JE) a five-minute walk from Caledonian Road tube station. It’s a truly beautiful space and I’ll be treating here on Thursdays and Saturdays.

And so the sliding puzzle is complete (I think..!)

It’s funny, we can look at life and think we’re missing something, we don’t have this or that - the picture isn’t perfect or things would be better if only - and in fact, nothing is missing, it’s all just opportunity, perspective - to make some moves, be open for change.

What’s one move you can make in your life? You don’t have to know the outcome, just do it!
